Very good for low heat sauces etc. I cooked Swiss steak with tomato sauce on low gas heat for 2 hours. I only stirred the sauce twice in that time. When I cleaned up the gravy and cooked the steak, the gravy didn't burn like it used to. I am very impressed with this product and will be using one of these housewarming gifts very soon. Two thoughts on that. Don't spill anything on the plate while it's hot as this will stain the surface and set aside to cool. I think it would be a bad idea to run cold water on it while it's hot.
