These lights are perfect replacements for T-4 G-8 halogen lights. They are almost as bright as halogens. The lamps have a transparent silicone coating, so I think they will be suitable for wet rooms like the kitchen. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating is that I get a strobe effect when I use the 'Low' setting on my device. . I liked having some of the lights set too high and others set too low to vary the lighting in my kitchen. Using these lamps at low levels gives you a strobe effect when something moves under the light. I'm not sure what's causing this because they still dim to the desired level with no issues. I've seen several negative reviews that say the lights are very dim. This is caused by the presence of a dimmer switch that is not designed for LEDs. These bulbs don't draw enough current for the halogen dimmer (which you probably have installed) to work properly. There are 3 solutions 1) Replace the dimmer with a standard switch if you don't care about dimming. 2) Replace the dimmer with a dimmer designed for LED bulbs, or 3) Leave a halogen bulb in your fixture. This single bulb draws enough current for the dimmer to work properly on other LEDs.
