After 1.5 years they sent me a replacement monitor, it still works and I still rate it 5 stars for the value for money and the customer service I got when I had an issue. -------------- ------------------ Original Review April 2021 ----------- --- ------------- ------ A brief history of my experience with the monitor. This monitor died 5 weeks later (4 days after the end of the Amazon warranty period). If you decide to buy this monitor, you're buying the extra warranty that Amazon tells you to buy just in case. . or know that like me, you take the quality assurance risk. After the monitor died I followed Viotek's RMA instructions exactly as they were written. Support states that an RMA number is usually issued within 24 hours. It wasn't like that. No response yet.**GUARANTEE EXTENSION 1**RMA instructions received within 3 business days (72 hours). Viotek's website states that the consumer is responsible for shipping costs and pays return shipping costs. This wasn't the case for me as they covered the $20 shipping cost. It was sent via UPS. You still haven't received it. The next update will be released after the postponement. **GUARANTEE 2 UPDATE** Received email confirmation within 5 days of shipment that the device was received. It is being processed and the message states that the device processing time is approximately 5-20 business days depending on the type of return (repair, return, exchange). ** WARRANTY UPDATE 3 ** No more emails but UPS showed up and dropped the monitor 8 days after receiving the confirmation email. After only 20 days the monitor failed, requested an RMA, received the first email from bcolab, shipped the monitor and then received a repaired unit. There used to be a few hot spots on the monitor that are no longer visible. So not sure if the power outage was the cause of the problem, but either way this unit looks fantastic. I really had to make some tweaks to actually make this work well, but if you take 15 minutes to play around with the settings you should be very happy with the results. The monitor's death was unfortunate, but I feel the company addressed the warranty in a timely manner. way, and the performance of this monitor at this price point is very good. I changed my rating from 1 star (due to a broken monitor) back to 5 stars. Again, you should really consider purchasing an Amazon Extended Warranty to save yourself the potential hassle. If I had the opportunity to do this after receiving a refurbished unit, I would. For the price it would still be a bargain.
