Review on APC PE6WU2 Wall Outlet Plug Extender: Surge Protector with USB Ports - 6 AC Multi Plug Outlet, 540 Joule Surge Protection by Bryan Orozco

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Disappointed, that's why you should read this.

Pros:* UL listed* APC product* Low retail price* Lifetime warranty* $50,000 device protection Cons:* Difficult to wire.* Questionable design.* Not made in the USA.* Power supply rating less than 600 joules.* Clamping voltage greater than 400 V.* Proposition 65 type warning in microprint.* Cannot use all outlets with medium-sized plugs. that we too are attracted. However, after looking at all the pros and cons of this product, we were disappointed after the purchase. First, we couldn't plug it into the GFCI outlet in the kitchen, the distance between the pins of the APC connector and the plastic pin for the bottom wall plug wasn't far enough apart. Also, we cannot use all three (3) vessels at the same time, they are too narrow. The "protected" night light feature is interesting, but the need for something this big is debatable. The USB ports fit snugly into the outlet. Joule value below (600). The joule number is a kind of measure of lifespan. Over time, your muffler will degrade. The Joule rating tells you how long the muffler will withstand all those shocks - the more the better. In addition, the through-voltage exceeds 400 volts (voltage protection class). It is preferable to pass fewer volts to whatever is connected. In this case, the passage of 500 volts is allowed. Think about it, your home is built to supply 120 volts. This allows you to boost the voltage up to 500 volts on whatever you have connected. Hmmm. Finally, we were not happy with the cancer warning in this product. Consider looking elsewhere before plugging in your expensive smartphone or computer, you might find the best. *If you found my review helpful, please let Revain know by clicking the helpful button below!
