The compressor on my AS43U6 outdoor fridge did not turn on. It clicked and drew 800 watts for 12 seconds, then turned off, then turned on again. The old PTC made no noise when shaken, but I opened it up and saw the conductor was cracked and burned. Installed this cheap thing and started working and saved me over $1000. I hope it lasts. You can measure the resistance of your compressor to make sure the compressor is fine. For example, C (top pin) to S (bottom right pin) should be 10 ohms, and C to R (or M, bottom right) should be about half that value. None of the contacts must have a short to ground.
