This is light aluminum as expected. However, I didn't expect it to be so ultra light. Every part of it, including the ears, can be easily bent with your fingers. I wouldn't use this for anything unless it had bottom support, or if absolute minimum weight was your primary concern. On the plus side, if you have to pierce it to install something like a Raspberry Pi, it should be pretty easy. If you need something better and aren't looking for the absolute minimum weight, you can get more solid steel shelving in the same size for just a few dollars.
