Cantilever Server Shelf Mount Aluminum Review

Installed the shelf on the rack with no problems, the holes match perfectly, the shelf is strong. I currently have a small switch and a KVM on a shelf and they fit perfectly. In general, the shelf is of good quality and without problems, I will buy again if necessary.

Nothing fancy here just a standard rack of computer/electronic racks at a good price. I'm happy with the quality and screws were included to fix it. I use it to store a few small items connected to my home network switch. Make sure you are aware of the 6 inch depth as it may not be large enough for some items. For me it was exactly what I needed and I would definitely recommend it to others looking for a cheap shelf.

I rated 1 star mainly because one side of the shelf was quite curved. Since it didn't need to be visible in the counter below, I really didn't want to go through the process of requesting a return or exchange. It's strong enough to hold whatever's on it. The box it came in showed no signs of damage so it was frustrating to see the damaged side which I had to pry back with pliers to fit in my rack. Otherwise it's just great for what it's worth.

Whilst it looked really nice and was well protected in transit it is not cut properly and the nuts will not go into the slots without sawing the metal to fit. This must be tested at the factory before sale! Also, neither of the two packs of bolts that come with them will fit in either of the holes in the rails unless they are flared out to allow the bolts to pass through and the nuts to be installed. It's just not a very well made product, to say the least, and I would avoid it at all costs!

I went the cheap route here and it works for what I need, but the metal is thin enough that I can easily bend it by hand. It won't hold much weight.

Shelf shelf, came as described and works as it should. Note that this shelf has grooves on both sides. So if you plan to install an item that is longer than the base of the shelf, it may not seat properly in the base. I installed it in a square hole rack with 4 mounting tabs and screws, it's very solid but not incredibly powerful. If that's what you're looking for, I'm sure it will work.

This is light aluminum as expected. However, I didn't expect it to be so ultra light. Every part of it, including the ears, can be easily bent with your fingers. I wouldn't use this for anything unless it had bottom support, or if absolute minimum weight was your primary concern. On the plus side, if you have to pierce it to install something like a Raspberry Pi, it should be pretty easy. This 6" deep 19" aluminum rack mount shelf is the lightest I've found. I like that it's metal (not plastic, which can break in a crash) and I like that it's aluminum (not steel, which weighs more).
