This speaker mic works great with my standard Horizon hx870 radio. Just remember to insert the plug all the way into the radio after you have inserted the plug into the radio how to make it waterproof seal I work in the engine room of a ship and needed to listen to my radio over the engines running so it helps to place the microphone close to my ear
