The main problem I had with these candles was the plastic holders. The part that sticks into the cake wasn't long enough to hold the candle properly, it fell IMMEDIATELY (and left the glitter that all the other reviewers mention) on the cake. We ended up just handing her candles to blow out, I didn't think to check them or stock up on candles. And I tried sticking them in the cake without a holder. I had to tuck it in halfway (to keep them upright) but that then negated the effect of the tall candles. The design flaw is either the holders or the thickness/weight of the candles themselves.
