I had never seen such a large magnifying glass before, so I was shocked by its size. I didn't read the size in the description, but it's actually meant to be viewed at a small or flat specimen that fits in the bottom section under a magnifying glass. The picture is very clear, the light is bright and beautiful. This is ideal for summer insects. If you have an object that is (approximately) larger than the diameter of the glass, you may find it difficult to see certain areas as this magnifier does not sit flat.
