The ability for students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) to engage in activities that are meaningful, fun, enjoyable and safe at their level is very important to me. I appreciate how this program allows them to interact socially while learning new things through play. They can learn social behaviors without feeling judged or left out by other children. There have been many times when they do not understand what others want but it's ok because we simply move forward together as a group. As a teacher, I am able to observe where my student needs help so that he/she receives proper support. This has allowed us to progress more quickly than if I were teaching him alone. I also like how easy it was to create an individual schedule which helps organize our time better. It makes scheduling easier for our whole class. This gives me peace of mind knowing that all the kids receive ample opportunities to succeed academically, behaviorally, and socially. We would love to see greater accessibility options for those who require accommodation. Also, some additional resources may be needed to make classes more inclusive of people living with disabilities. By creating a shared space, it creates an atmosphere for everyone to feel comfortable enough to try something different each day. I like that it's interactive, so we can have fun while learning at the same time! It is also great for team building as well since everyone gets involved in different roles during the session. It isn't very easy to get people together, but once you do, they are all willing participants! We use this tool when working with our internal clients (customers). It has helped us build relationships with them by helping them understand how to communicate better.
