May be suitable for taller, lighter people

This chair looks great. It was easy to assemble. The upholstery was nice. This chair just didn't last long. After the first 30 minutes of using the footrest, the seal broke and the plug had to be screwed in so tight that it damaged the chrome stand. After a few days of use (6-8 hours) the chair started to smell strange. Others have described this issue with other chairs that use faux leather. The chair also creaked horribly when shifting weight on the underside of the seat when seated (bent forward and then reclined), which was annoying to say the least. The padding was sufficient. The height of the fully compressed seat was odd. With the footrest no longer staying on the counter, I often felt like my feet were hanging out of reach of the chair legs. I'm 5'11", so average height. I was hoping to use the chair both low and high. I found none of them to work because of all the other issues. Eventually the piston failed after 2 months. Me weigh 210 lbs. It was the last straw. The chair was (completely) disassembled to see if the squeaking can be eliminated and perhaps the seat can still be used. To no avail. The design was such that the wooden base of the seat was at the Metal frame rubbed. I fiddled around but it would be a waste of time to rebuild it. Not a chair for me. It will also be the last chair I buy without being able to sit on it. Measurements and specs are not a substitute for a real meeting in the room To sit.
