I've been making smoothies for many years. I have two Cuisinart blenders. The first served for several years before the gear (plastic) clutch broke. I replaced it, which slightly increased its lifespan. I bought another Cuisinart with a larger motor after my first one died. It also worked great until it burned out = blown motor (very bad smell). I think my daughter didn't add enough liquid when making smoothies, but she says she doesn't. Anyway, I've been looking for a replacement for a long time. It was hard to figure out which one would be best for my needs without spending a ton of money. I pulled the trigger on this Easter blender in April 2018 based on the reviews, the glass jar (I really don't like plastic = too light) and the price. I've been using it for 3 months now and it's absolutely amazing for making smoothies. It has a Frozen Drink button that works with frozen fruit! I run it through the Frozen Drink cycle several times to make sure it's all ground up (can't let my kids see/taste spinach!). I haven't had any issues with leaks as I just made sure the bottom was tight with the gasket; he has not broken up either. I am delighted with this blender; It works better than both of my Cuisinart blenders! I would definitely buy it again. There are no delivery problems.
