The blade assembly was very tight when turned by hand. I felt a lot of friction holding it and just turning the blade. I decided to try a dry run to see how it performs when there's nothing in the blender. The blender was very noisy and I could hear a grinding noise as the motor drive shaft separated from the blade. Update: April 16, 2016 This blender is still gaining momentum. I like soft frozen fruit smoothies. This is very difficult for the blender motor as the fruit is frozen and as soon as liquids are added the liquids start to freeze and it all becomes REALLY thick.
