The best smoothie blender ever!

I've been making smoothies for many years. I have two Cuisinart blenders. The first served for several years before the gear (plastic) clutch broke. I replaced it, which slightly increased its lifespan. I bought another Cuisinart with a larger motor after my first one died. It also worked great until it burned out = blown motor (very bad smell). I think my daughter didn't add enough liquid when making smoothies, but she says she doesn't. Anyway, I've been looking for a replacement for a long…

Pros

We actually RETURNED this product after testing different recipes/smoothies/ice crushing methods. Luckily our 5 year old Farberware 4-Speed Digital Blender Model #103742 still worked so we had a "backup" until we could investigate further. Our cheap (less powerful) Farberware held up like a champ even after 2 uses, but this Easter took forever to conjure up even the simplest of foods (frozen fruit in very small pieces, soft veggies like spinach, frozen cauliflower) and RICE ). correctly without

OK BLENDER AT A GOOD PRICE. Definitely room for improvement

This blender is fine. I'm sure I would have enjoyed it more if I hadn't previously owned an amazing Braun blender that has worked great for over 10 years (but unfortunately is no longer made). I have used this Easter blender 15 times so far to make frozen fruit smoothies and grind grains. Some pros and cons of the Oster Reverse Crush Blender: PROS: The ability to have the blades move in either direction is definitely useful. However, it would be nice if this feature was available in other ways…

Small appliance laundry massacre

2 year old update: Still very happy with the blender, especially where I end up with my previous ones for now. Now that everyone is at home, it becomes more useful than ever, with the same excellent and consistent results. I don't know what some of the one star reviewers are doing with theirs, but it has to be some level of mishandling by Munchausen by mixing it up to get the problems I've read about. These are $60 blenders, not $200 cement mixers and smoothies. It's also $60 aloud, so you'll…

Generally not well made. Poor material quality and poor workmanship.

The blade assembly was very tight when turned by hand. I felt a lot of friction holding it and just turning the blade. I decided to try a dry run to see how it performs when there's nothing in the blender. The blender was very noisy and I could hear a grinding noise as the motor drive shaft separated from the blade. I was able to reduce the grinding noise a bit by pressing down on the blender jar, but I couldn't switch off the grinding completely. After running for about 15 seconds I removed…

Good blender for the money. see added edit at end.

It's time to replace our 20+ year old Krups blender. Switches stuck and the engine itself throbbed as if to say its days were numbered. I really didn't want to spend hundreds on one of those fancy blenders, but I know I wanted something powerful enough to process ice cubes and frozen fruit. The night before I had to make a breakfast smoothie using an old blender because it just couldn't grind the frozen stuff. This blender has that kind of power - and more if you need it - and it has an…

Update: April 16, 2016 This blender is still gaining momentum. I like soft frozen fruit smoothies. This is very difficult for the blender motor as the fruit is frozen and as soon as liquids are added the liquids start to freeze and it all becomes REALLY thick. I use this blender to make fruit smoothies at least 5 times a week. Here's a photo of a soft batch of 4 berries I made with this blender a few minutes ago. Reviewed July 15, 2015 1. Shipping was fast as shipper used Fed-X.2. Upon…
