We actually RETURNED this product after testing different recipes/smoothies/ice crushing methods. Luckily our 5 year old Farberware 4-Speed Digital Blender Model #103742 still worked so we had a "backup" until we could investigate further. Our cheap (less powerful) Farberware held up like a champ even after 2 uses, but this Easter took forever to conjure up even the simplest of foods (frozen fruit in very small pieces, soft veggies like spinach, frozen cauliflower) and RICE ). correctly without stopping every 5 seconds to push things back to center. This is due to too much liquid. This was an issue as I prefer thicker drinks. It's also VERY noisy. I'm sensitive to noise and literally needed earplugs and covered my ears to be in the same room with this device, but family members (who aren't that sensitive) agreed! Adding (again) an excessive amount of liquid and mixing and it didn't produce the quality I expected from this device.
