Stopped working after 3 hours

I was quite happy with my newfound ability to switch keyboard and mouse between two working computers until a few hours later suddenly one of the parties stopped it see (when switching there). The light was still on, but the computer couldn't see it anymore. About an hour later the other side stopped seeing it too, turning this switch into an LED-lit paperweight, not quite what was advertised. i give it back
