Can cause serious problems!

I am very disappointed to have to write this review. I had high hopes for all the positive reviews that were written. I connected the product to the OBD2 port, waited a few minutes, started the car, the check engine light came on immediately. My Suburban is 9 years old, I am the original owner and have driven less than 100,000 miles and I have never had a check engine light for some reason. I decided to call Range Technology support and ask them about the device and their recommendations. I immediately contacted and spoke to the biggest jerk. He blamed me for the problem, said it was an existing code that should be on my car and their product never causes this type of problem. I told him I read reviews that show it sometimes causes cels. He said it wasn't true and advised me to unplug, start the car and then plug it in. I did so I still had the light on and I figured I wouldn't risk it wrecking my car so I turned it off. went to the chevy dealer, ran a diagnostic and showed 3 codes. 1 contains the transmission code P0700 and two other codes u0073 and u0100. The dealer cleared the codes and I had no driving problems for the rest of the day. Check engine light is off Car runs as before I would recommend reading some of the negative reviews on this product before risking using it on your car. Certainly don't expect much help from Range Technologies, at least not from the person I'm talking to. I will definitely never use any of these devices in any of my cars again.
