These grippy can opener pads are fine. Not as grippy as I had hoped. They feel too stiff for comfortable use or better grip. I ended up washing mine in hot, soapy water, which slightly improved their softness and made them more comfortable. 6" diameter is sufficient (7" diameter is better for removing larger caps). Although the pads are clean cut. Also the color is nice for the kitchen. The question remains open as to whether it is genuine "natural rubber". They feel very similar to the shelf foam rollers you can find at Walmart or Target. I wish they had better traction. However, if you need them and are comfortable with the small size and color and cannot find a roll of similar material and want to cut them yourself, they will work satisfactorily. The ideal size I've found from experience is a 7 inch square shape with rounded corners.
