Powerful little thing! Yes the rotary switch arrived cracked and damaged but the part still worked so I kept it. I just plug it into an open, uncovered outlet and turn it on. Depending on the size of the room, the smell will dissipate within a few minutes. I moved into an apartment and the last tenant was a smoker, so the closet smelled like cigarettes. I've tried every deodorant and air freshener in the world. Then I bought this little thing. I opened the closet door, plugged the Plixio into the nearest outlet, and let it run. An hour later the whole room, not just the closet, smelled clean! No more cigarette smell! Now I use it around the house before receiving guests and after taking out the trash. I also brought it to my sister's house when we had a scotch and cigar party. There was a small room between the garage, where everyone was smoking, and the house. I put it in there, turned it on, and as people walked in and out of the house, the house didn't smell like cigars! I love this item and would recommend it to anyone who just wants a clean house to smell over air fresheners. They get very hot with prolonged use. I recommend not leaving it on for more than an hour.
