Dropped my 20 year old Stanley Contractor Grade tape in a lumber yard and pulled it off immediately. I tried some tapes available at local hardware stores and found out why. I read reviews about Revain and decided to go for it. So far I'm very happy with it. It's small and light for a 1 inch tape, rolls and snaps easily, and has a strong hook that moves smoothly for inside and outside measurements. The white color is very legible and easy on the eyes. I've never had a metric/standard combo tape and find it a bit of a compromise - it's better to have a separate tape for each system so you don't have to read the wrong side of the tape for critical measurements, but that was my fault. I wanted a band that I could take with me and use on a bike, work with wood, whatever. I've seen that I have several of these - it looks like the tapes get lost all the time anyway.
