This adapter is good, but it wasn't made for the MacBook Pro, at least not for the 2017 version (I don't know about older models). It slots in and fits the Macbook perfectly, the problem is that it's not 100% snug. They have a small fold out handle that plugs into the headphone jack for more stability (it has a headphone jack in the adapter so you don't lose that functionality), the MacBook, at least the 2017 model I have, doesn't have headphones alongside USB though C have where this adapter fits. So all you have to do is plug it in and for the most part 8/10 you'll probably be fine. But those 2 times you might be holding it on your lap and hitting it with your knee, don't be surprised if your devices lose connection because the adapter moves a bit. I guess what I'm trying to say it might look like it was designed for a Macbook, but it was clearly designed for another laptop of a different type, with the headphone jack conveniently placed next to the USB-C one more secure fit.
