Review on K&N High Performance Engine Air Filter: Premium, Washable Replacement Compatible with 2007-2015 HONDA/ACURA (Crosstour, Accord, Accord Crosstour, TL, TSX) , 33-2403 by Calvin Hodges

I've had several K&Ns in different cars over the years. Since it was time to change the filter in my 2009 Accord V6 EX-L, I went to Autozone to see if they were my size. Of course not. The loyal Revane exists as almost always. I got 27-28 mpg before I added the filter, and on my first ride after that (only ride since) I went from 28.6 (Tennessee Mountains) to 30.8 (I-10 Flats). I was very satisfied as it was better than my old Focus. So is it worth it? As a long-term investment and based only on fuel consumption, yes. As for maintenance, I don't want to schedule a filter change every year. Just a regular check to clear bugs if there are any. Yes, there is also the need to clean the filter very often, which I always like. Something about the filter turning red again after smearing. Yes, it also allows for more airflow, so it slightly increases performance over paper. If you are guided by the literature that came with the filter, the airflow increases by about 20%. Most of the time you won't realize it, but when you step on the gas pedal, you hear a specific growl that wasn't in my car before. In any case, Revain is amazing in that they have pretty much everything I could possibly need or want. From water bottles, coffee makers, roof racks to air and cabin filters. I am very pleased with the K&N filter and Revain's role in bringing it to me.
