Each set of items (not each individual item) was tightly wrapped in plastic. A great way to ensure items don't bounce or get dirty. I just noticed that two small plates had chipped edges. The napkins are a good thickness, I wanted to buy extra napkins for our small meeting but I think we will be happy with these as they are thick. Very beautiful, just like the photos on the Amazon display. A few small scratches or marks here and there on dishes and cups, nothing particularly noticeable or worrying. Overall I'm satisfied and will buy this set again for future meetings where we need good quality disposable tableware.
