My old Sony Discman (car grade) died a few days ago so I bought the latest Sony car CD player (D-NE306CK). Playing MP3s in my car is great, but there's one thing that bugs me like hell. An early model of Sony's car player had a "line out" connector that plugged into a cassette adapter. This model doesn't have it. There is now a small control knob (Rotary Commander) between the player and the cassette adapter that allows you to stop, skip forward/backward or pause playback. In any case, without an actual "line out" you will have to adjust the volume / bass / treble of the car radio and the volume of the Sony portable player. If it's not adjusted properly, there will be too much rumble, noise and so on. In any case, the player is good alone, but if you use it together, you need to match the sound on the car stereo and the player. I think I'm used to the rumble.
