So thin they warp/twist when painted

I was not happy with how thin they are. I figured they were sturdy enough to cover with 1-2 coats of acrylic paint without curling or warping. After applying the primer I have to spread it between heavy books or something. For the price I think I should have gotten 8 strong eggs or 16 fragile eggs.
