I give this product 2 stars for 2 reasons. 1) The factory plastic nut caps on my MK7 (and many other models I'm sure) will not fit round nuts. Judging by the cover design, they don't work with any wheel lock. Unless of course there was a 17mm hex on the outside, in which case it won't lock. I think it's worth mentioning in the product description. The second problem is that everyone who works with VWs, even at the DIY level, has triple squares. One look at the design and I knew the triple square would remove it. Of course, the M16 triple square fits like it was made for it. I now realize that most wheel thieves don't ride with a triple square, but those who have an older/smaller model and want a free upgrade already have a triple square that's great for removing those wheel locks. I think the key loss is not a problem.
