I bought these because the ones I used before were getting more expensive. Don't waste your money. I use humidifier filters that last about 2 months. I haven't changed anything. Still using the same bacteriostatic. I installed one of them at the beginning of the heating season. Around mid-November. As the holidays approached, I noticed that my humidifier was running most of the time. Which was unusual as it wasn't really that cold and my heater wasn't working that hard. Just before Christmas I decided to change the new filter. Well, for starters, the filter was split, so I got two pieces. one was folded in half and had a shiny, almost metallic detail, while the other was plain. So I put a double in the humidifier. In less than three weeks, I noticed my humidifier was working consistently again. I usually set the humidifier at 50%, but the humidity readings never go above 39%. I immediately ordered some of the filters I had previously used and sent the remaining two back for a refund. I got the new ones earlier this week and when I went to put one in I noticed that the one in the humidifier was completely dry except when actually standing in the water. It wasn't wet at all. I put a new one in and within 10-15 minutes the moisture reading went from 39 to 50. Needless to say I will not be buying these filters again.
