Pulls and Rips My Yarn

First of all, this is my first time using Tunisian crochet. I have been crocheting for several years now and have made many pieces; Amigurumi, clothes, pillows and bags. This is the first time I have so many problems with crocheting. The point of this Tunisian needle catches and snaps my yarn. This is very frustrating. Again, this is my first time trying this so it might be user error, but I feel like my problem is that this hook is made of wood. No matter how hard you grind the end, it still remains woody and can snag. Next time I'll try an aluminum Tunisian hook. At the same time, the hook is very well made in all other aspects. It feels smooth in my hand and even with my injured wrist I had almost no wrist pain. For the project I'm working on (I'm using 50 sc), the hook is more than enough. All in all if you are used to working with a wooden hook this is a great product. If you're used to working with aluminum hooks, stick with what you know.
