They perfectly protect our walls. The only problem is that the center is so big and smooth that the ends of the gate slide into it and if given a chance to get some movement under heavy tension I can move the whole gate. I am sure that the child can handle it without any problems. Baby gates are basically based on tension, so we can't make the gate tighter, otherwise we won't be able to open it. Our solution was to add some grip on the inside and we 3D printed a smaller ring that perfectly fits the gate. If it had a smaller hole it would be much better. Excellent quality for the price although similar to other products on the market.
