I recently bought a Dell G3 3590 gaming laptop with i5 9300h and 1660ti max Q. Well, this thing always gets hot. There was thermal throttling and power limiting all the time. I was losing so many frames playing COD Warzone and while playing the CPU temp was up to 100C (throttling back then) and the GPU temp was 85 (throttling back then). I even lowered the voltage and capped my 4.0GHz turbo CPU to 3.4GHz, which helped, but kept running high for performance and temperature reasons (the CPU peaked even after the undervoltage and turbo limit still 90 ยฐC). These methods stopped throttling, but again for performance reasons. I've never used liquid metal. This is very different from thermal paste. Preparatory work before applying is crucial. Start by cleaning off all the old thermal paste and use the included alcohol pad to clean the CPU and GPU (also a microfiber cloth at the end). I then applied clear nail polish to all the resistors (2 layers) and to the heatsink around the CPU and GPU. I also used +33 tape around the CPU and GPU after covering the resistors. Then I applied liquid metal. You really only need a small drop, a little is enough. Then use the included cotton swab to spread it over the entire surface. Only use the excess on the heatsink in the area where the CPU and GPU touch. Let me tell you that during the game the difference was 15 degrees! And now I can charge back to 4.0 GHz. At maximum turbo speed, with the same reduced voltage as before, I only reach 85ยฐC when gaming. My GPU didn't feel much of a difference, but it still runs 5-7C cooler than any thermal paste I've tried. Now while playing Warzone I run the CPU at 83-85C and the GPU at 77-79C. I'm very happy with the results and wouldn't recommend it to anyone with a gaming laptop. I also ordered a cooling pad in the hope of even lower temperatures. I wish I could be in my 70's all day. I give this product a full recommendation. EDIT 8/29/20 My laptop's temperatures are still great with this liquid metal and there is no thermal throttling at full speed during long gaming sessions. I have now also used this liquid metal to clean my 8600k. After applying Delid and Liquid Metal, my CPU temperature dropped by 17 degrees, even in an office with a rather hot ambient temperature due to the lack of air conditioning. I just don't recommend this stuff for gaming laptops or deliding/overclocking.
