Have My Doubts - Computers and Accessories

I decided to try this because I needed a low profile antenna. First, it's very expensive. The Wilson Vertical Antenna Magnetic Mount is 40% cheaper and it's just a plastic body. I accidentally broke it while installing. It's my fault for trying to insert it easily with a hammer. Not the manufacturers fault. But when braking, I decided to look inside and lower it, and here's a simple wire. Not a single wire is stressed, as with conventional antennas. So, having experience with antennas, I know which antenna is right for the job. The longer the wavelength, the shorter the antenna. So this is the formula (Hz, wavelength and speed of light) to determine the size of an antenna. For example, a half-wave antenna for a given frequency might be 18 inches high if the wave height is 3 feet. A quarter wave is smaller and requires more floor space to be effective. Therefore, a wire dangling from the device can cause more problems than benefits. So, judging by the tiny wire sticking out, I can't see how that could be even remotely effective. I would expect some kind of antenna on a PC board like those built into phones and devices. My conclusion, apart from being overpriced, is that it cannot offer any performance benefits. I could be wrong but looking at the design I don't think so.
