Sturdy and anti-theft

We've had this chain for a year and a half now. It's beautiful, holds up well, the chain guard prevents damage to the wheel, very satisfied. I was waiting to leave a review so I can share how it wears. It wears great, the little U-lock that comes with the kit still works and doesn't get stuck which is always a good thing. The bike is stored in a covered but open garage so it is exposed to some degree of weather but not direct rain, just Florida humidity. . We had a bike stolen while having lunch here (there was only a cable lock, never do that). No one will have time to cut this chain in broad daylight in this urban environment, it is heavy and will deter any would-be thief. All you have to do is be one of the safest bikes downtown, as thieves go after unlocked or cabled bikes. Another use for us is locked in our gated property garage. Twice bikes were stolen from our neighbors in the garage but not from us. Again, I think we care about having one of the most secure settings compared to what's still available. Can someone cut the chain if there is enough time? Sure, but it will take some time and tools. What we love is that while our large U-locks are lighter and very quick to put on and take off, they are very easy to use - there are times when we don't have a good place to lock them and they won will not fit around a lamp post or other unique location. Even at home, where we also lock them (a bolt in a concrete wall), a U-lock is not enough - a chain gives you much more room to lock even 2 bikes. But it's HARD, so hard to work with, hard to drive, awkward to unlock, wrap somewhere to travel with, fumble around to lock again. So unless you have a particular reason to want a chain, a big enough U-lock is very easy. They say U-locks can be picked and are easier to cut. For nighttime security, that's another reason we have both chain and U-locks.
