I bought this to protect my copper sinks from oxidation. This block will last a very, very long time and has many other uses for protecting metals exposed to the elements. There's a brand made specifically for copper sinks, but it's just a microcrystalline wax mix that costs five times as much for the quantity. I dry the sink well, close the drain, cut out a small ball (about 1 teaspoon or less). Wax, throw it in the sink, heat it with a hair dryer until it's slightly pliable, then move it around with a small piece of the cut t-shirt. I continue to heat it intermittently and rub very thinly over the entire sink including the rim (my sinks are being reinstalled). It takes very long. Repeat the process when you notice that the water no longer collects in drops. Two to three times a year are usually sufficient. Make sure the layer is very, very thin so as not to blur the beauty of the sink. People use this type of wax for many, many things. Use your imagination!
