took a little time to melt

Used for oilcloth blends and seems to work well. Left the fabric a little stiffer than I expected for the thickness of the layer applied. During a very long drying period and then during a winter rain with winds of 10 to 15 miles per hour, the fabric shed it completely. Good material, if a bit stiff.

Pros
  • candle making
Cons
  • small items

Excellent versatile soft wax

Perfect material and a lot cheaper than most jewelry or candle stores. It's exactly what it's supposed to be, soft, pliable and sticky. I have this for making sprues and such on some investment castings. I'll probably mix the leftovers with beeswax and paraffin to use as a finish on some of my wood lathes.

Pros
  • Kraft
Cons
  • Can't remember

Ideal for copper sinks!

I bought this to protect my copper sinks from oxidation. This block will last a very, very long time and has many other uses for protecting metals exposed to the elements. There's a brand made specifically for copper sinks, but it's just a microcrystalline wax mix that costs five times as much for the quantity. I dry the sink well, close the drain, cut out a small ball (about 1 teaspoon or less). Wax, throw it in the sink, heat it with a hair dryer until it's slightly pliable, then move it…
