Beautiful but cheaper

I bought a Huawei Matebook (model 2016) as an ultra-portable Windows computer, primarily for quick photo editing on the go, to stay in touch with e-mails, business documents and social networks, as well as viewing various media files in HD+ format. I was hesitant to spend more money on a Microsoft Surface Pro or other Windows device in the same detachable keyboard/convertible 2-in-1 or tablet because my needs were very specific and I knew I needed the performance of my desktop not needed. At home. To be honest I returned this device and bought a newer "E" version of the Huawei Matebook (2017 model) with an Intel Core m3-7Y30 processor with 4GB RAM after thoroughly researching this device and using an Intel m5 processor had used. Processor -6Y57 and 8GB of RAM for a couple of days. My conclusions looking at the above use cases: 1. On paper and definitely in the real world, the new m3 processor is just as efficient as the older m5, despite the m5 processor having a slightly higher clock speed, 4GB more RAM and the reliable Intel HD Graphics 520 (equivalent to the newer Intel HD Graphics 615 in the newer m3 processor). The Matebook E feels like it's going to take that extra step off the line and punch when needed.2. The two processors are a generation apart: the m3 is from the 7th generation or Kaby Lake series, while the m5 is from the 6th generation or Skylake series. Kaby Lake processors were touted at launch as capable of much better 4K video streaming, consuming less power and offering vastly improved 3D graphics compared to previous processor generations. In this test case it becomes obvious.3. When checking CPU and memory usage when using applications like Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom CC and Asphalt 8, the amount of RAM does not affect performance. Overall, the two processors were equal in the amount they taxed each machine, but the m3 felt slightly faster. I'd like to add that this is my experience and I haven't pushed a machine to thresholds by running multiple apps with 20 open browser windows or just trying to see where they broke, but this is more of a controlled test case for each use, experience. While I still give this device a decent mark for its intended use, light computing and on-the-go media consumption, I would recommend the newer Huawei Matebook E with m3 processor over the Huawei Matebook with m5 for an even better experience. I feel like what I've outlined will increase my overall experience from 4 stars to somewhere between 4.5 and 5 stars. Huawei MateBook E Signature Edition 12 inch 2-in-1 tablet laptop, including Office 365 Personal, 4+128 display / Intel Core m3 / 2K, including portfolio keyboard (titanium grey) bought for about 30€ more, but it came with a very functional and beautiful keyboard case. The only other point I would like to make is that the Huawei MatePen stylus, which is an accessory for the Matebook, is no longer available on Amazon at a price of $59.99. My order was canceled and my money was refunded. There is now a significant markup on the Huawei MatePen stylus from various retailers. I hope that the pen will return at a cheaper price in the near future. After extensive research, the Wacom Bamboo Ink Smart Stylus CS321AK really works with the Matebook. Enjoy!
