I purchased two separate cars, one red and one blue. Out of the box, both had scratches on the top of the car and on the remote control. There are also 3 slots for batteries on the underside of the car but the car has a single rechargeable battery. At first I thought you could choose to either use the rechargeable batter or use 3 normal batteries, but realized the 3 AA battery ports were connected to anything, they were literally empty plastic slots. I’m not sure if the car used to take 3 batteries and was converted to a single rechargeable, but it seems cheap to have an old, useless design. After installing the remote batteries and charging the car batteries, both cars worked for about 6 minutes, then died. I had initially charged the batteries for about an hour and thought I might not have charged them all the way so I charged the batteries again for two hours this time. After reinstalling the rechargeable batteries in each car, neither worked.I also have a remote control car from a different manufacturer. Something odd that happened was after I had installed the batteries after their second charge and was unable to control them with the remote, one of the cars started to be controlled by the other manufacturer’s remote.I wouldn’t say it’s a one-off bad car since both cars behaved exactly the same way. I would say this is a horribly made product that consistently broke within a 24 hour period of opening.
