The star looks beautiful. Our tree is 6.5' and I think the size is perfect. The cord is adequate length to plug into the top receptacle in the tree. As most Christmas tree toppers it has a green plastic cone to fit onto the tree. I don't know who designed that but it's useless. Ibdont blame this company. It's how they've been for years. I wish companies would attach the topper to a thin stick with green clamps to attach to the tree. We had to improvise by gluing sticks to the plastic cone and used mini binder clips.But that doesn't stop me from recommending this star tree topper. I think its perfect for our tree. We love it!
