I bought this as a gift after seeing pretty good reviews. I decided to try it before giving it away (after all, nobody wants to give a poor quality gift) and because I was thinking about buying another one. That's very disappointing. The drink warmed up very quickly. My ideal temperature is around 135°F. My drink started out at 204°F when I set it up warmer. After 20 minutes it was already below my comfort temperature, dropping to 127°F, which was chilly but could be considered moderately acceptable if it was as low as it dropped. After 40 minutes, the temperature of the drink dropped to 108°F and appears to have stayed there. Unfortunately, 110°F is far below the acceptable temperature for a hot beverage. What good is a heating pad that only keeps the bottom of the mug (just the outside) slightly warm. i will return it Yes, and the auto on/off feature doesn't work. Putting a cup on it will (usually) turn it on, but removing the cup won't turn it off as intended. Instead, the heating pad stays on until I manually lift it. A kind of defeat of the purpose of the "Auto" function.
