Yarn skeins do not match

I received the 4 rolls of yarn. One of the rolls was a different brand and colors were similar but did not match - the color code and brand need to be the same in order to complete a project. I had already begun using the yarn before I realized the difference so I can't return them. And one of the rolls of yarn of the 3 (from same brand/color code) has a significant difference in weight as the colors within the skein change (yarn gets very thin). Very strange feel and clearly looks strange. I have always liked and purchased Bernat yarn many times from the craft store. BIG disappointment with an online order since I can't return or get to craft store to replace.

I love the softness of this yarn. However, when I purchased a variegated yarn I expected the colors to change gradually. However, with some of the cakes I ordered I have noticed that instead of a gradual produced with dyes the change is accomplished with strands of two different colors being tied together. Not the ideal situation. Thankfully, I can bury the knots in my project.
