Easily install adhesive rear lock cover on 2014 Toyota 4Runner

Package includes flexible rubber/silicone cover, 2 screws, small offset screwdriver and scraper. If you're in the same situation as me, you'll need these products, as well as some GooGone or something similar (it breaks up the sticky stuff so you can wipe it off) and an all-purpose cleaner (to remove the oil that GooGone leaves behind on clothes, especially on clothes of the skin). hands!) and paper towels. I removed the screws from my original cover with a small offset screwdriver. It was a little tricky and tedious, but it's clearly doable. I didn't shoot anything else. My factory installed lid became such a sticky mess that I scraped and wiped it off after wiping the GooGone. And rubbed some more. And something else. It wasn't fast, but the goal was to just erase it with the GooGone (which continued to dissolve the old cap) until it was far enough away that you could just screw the new cap back on where the first was. Similar to closing a hazardous waste dump. Lots of paper towels were used. The screws included with the cover are slightly longer and slightly thinner than the original screws. I think I was about to get the original nuts off when I took them off, so I decided to put the ones that came with the cap - they seem fine. I can get new screws the same size as the original screws and swap them out.
