Solid reinforcement for bolt lock
I used this when I recently replaced the tailgate. It is very strong and well made. I replaced the included screws with 4" #12 Spax screws for extra strength. Then I reinforced the inside edge of the post with a $6 Home Depot metal repair plate with more Spax screws (see attached photo). I also have improved the short hinge screws that came with the curtained door, now it will be very difficult to kick the door!
