I bought ECO 27. I'm in a warm climate, the water at the inlet is 75-78 degrees. I set the output to 125 degrees. I have also removed all water saving devices in my showers. I live in a freshwater swamp over an aquifer, so I don't care about conserving freshwater, we've got enough of it. So I was worried about going without a cistern because I have three showers and all three throw out over 4 gallons per minute. Since the tanks are rated for 1.5 gallon showers per minute, I was concerned because one of my showers is pumping out nearly as much as three 1.5 gallon water saver showers. I've had it for a week and have taken 2 showers at the same time (haven't tried all 3 yet). Hot showers for both. I have a 200 amp connection. I was concerned because I have two central air conditioners, a pool pump, a spa pump and a host of other needs. I was concerned about a 200 amp mains outage. But I can crank this unit to full power, all three burners, no problem. Also no flickering headlights or the like. I have a 60 foot run from my panel to this unit. So instead of the 8-2 wire, I switched to the 6-2 wire. It costs more, but I didn't want to have problems with the 8-2 wire in the long run. If you have 50+ feet of mileage I would recommend using 6-2 wire. Using 3 bipolar 40 amp switches. The 6 gauge cable fits easily into the connection points inside the unit, the only tricky thing is to put 3 passes of this cable through the small 1" hole. You need to remove the Romex cover and just route the individual wires. I also used tubing instead of the supplied clamp because I wanted the wires to be completely covered. From the side of the board I routed each section in a separate 3/4" diameter flexible tube and plugged it in with 1/2" connectors. Only criticism is that when the thing is on full throttle with all 3 burners it sounds like a 747 jet engine taking off. That's not a problem for me due to the location under the stairs, but I wouldn't want the thing in the bedroom or installed somewhere else. I love the fact that this unit uses standard 3/4 inch water heater connections and you don't have to use adapters and such like other models. Just standard 3/4" powder, available locally everywhere. One thing I noticed is that you have to really tighten the connections or they will leak. First I wrapped with teflon tape and tightened as tight as You would normally tighten a 3/4 pipe thread but the connections were leaking.I then used Reactorseal teflon paste along with a few turns of teflon tape and tightened them down (especially the hot outlet).I tightened it so tight I was scared had to take it off no leaks but it took a lot of reactorseal teflon tape and very tight it doesnt seem right but now its not flowing.
