Haven't had a chance to ride it yet but installed it last night, looks great, opens easily but stays shut tight. The gasket that goes over the fuel inlet is on a spring like the original, which is a good thing. Although not mentioned in the description, this part will fit a Z1000 between 03-06. I have 03 and fit perfectly. I had to alternately tighten the screws to lower it properly, but it worked fine. Very satisfied, looks great, hope it seals well. Edit: I fixed my bike so I can ride it and it's amazing, I've had no issues with it not leaking, gas not coming out where it shouldn't, easy to open and close, looks great looking Very happy!
