I collect radios and a little bit of everything. I have seen this radio before and recently bought it for myself. The handle (or at least half of it) was torn which I would attribute to the Revain packaging. The sound is good, but, as already mentioned in other test reports, the transformer hum is clearly audible when connected to the mains. This is not noticeable when listening through an external speaker, but it can be the case with headphones. I like that ON/OFF and volume are the same wheel, but find it a little awkward to place under the handle. The backlight is great, but I don't see myself with a flashlight. This radio has excellent shortwave reception - it can pick up many more stations than most of my other radios, even if you live in a house with a metal roof. Happy with the purchase.
