When I bought this I thought it was black because the pictures looked black to me but it's not, it's brown. It's fine for my needs, but if you want black, try again. Anyone with three hands will have no problem assembling it. If you only have two hands you can still do it, but it takes a bit of skill to hold things in just the right place and screw them all together at the same time. If you have only one hand or less, you will need help with assembly. Pretty easy to figure out how to assemble, seems sturdy enough to last as we don't plan on hanging anything heavier than a coat on it. I doubt I'll hear any comments about its beauty, but that's not an eyesore either, and in most cases it'll be covered anyway. I'm happy with that. I love the little balls on the tips that add character and protect your stuff. You can see the screws holding it together if you look closely, but that's pretty common with regular hangers and no one is going to inspect your hanger thoroughly. Good product at a good price!
