I've had this for a few months now and love it. Here's why: 1) It's better than using chemicals. If you read the review, for it to work it needs to be applied at a certain temperature, with no wind and no rain for 24 hours. On top of that, this was all supposed to happen on one of my days off, and to be honest, I'm more likely to win the lottery. I wouldn't use it in high winds, but other than that I could use it whenever I wanted. Also, I think it works better than chemicals because it offers better weed control. I removed three large sections of turf; On one section I used chemicals to control weeds, on one section I used a torch and on the third section I did nothing. The area with the chemical spray was almost indistinguishable from the area where I hadn't done anything, but the area I set on fire was almost devoid of weeds. Some weeds didn't die and some germinated later, but that's the nature of weeds. I just ran over it again with a flashlight. The section of my garden that I used the flashlight on was the lightest and least weedy piece of land. 2) I also like that the torch burns things like dry leaves and green weeds. I have a lot of rocks and gravel and this made cleaning up easier3) I don't have to bend down to pull weeds and I don't get cramps in my hands pumping up a bottle of herbicide. It was much easier and faster! 4) Some reviews have complained that the flame goes out easily. While this has happened to me on occasion, it was always due to the propane tank getting too low. When I changed the bottle, this problem went away. Also note that the hole in the tube's neck is small, making it easier for you to choke on it. Cons: 1) There aren't many of them. At the moment I feel like the reservoir is too small, but that's only because I use it so much. I'm in the middle of a big landscaping project, so I use a lot of flare and run through tanks fast. I deliberately chose a small model because I wanted to use a flashlight around my flower beds. I think this will be perfect once I've got my garden set up, but for now I'm thinking about getting an adapter that will allow you to use large propane tanks. I highly recommend this product.
