Review on SONGMICS Adjustable Ergonomic Standing Stool - 23.6-33.3 Inches - Swivel Balance Chair - Gray UOSC02GY by Hartman Hernandez

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I'm still getting used to it.

The seat adjuster is a pneumatic cylinder, meaning it is spring loaded when the seat is not in use. This makes it too high to try to sit down and, in my case, pushes too low for comfortable use. What I wanted to achieve was to sit so that my torso was at the same level as when standing, which isn't very good for that. I've discussed his return, but I'll try to be prepared for it. I suspect my height makes a difference (6ft 1in 260#). Underneath the seat shell is a large palm knob to control the pneumatic cylinder (look at the shell when reassembling), handy for most right-handers I think but tricky for me. The handles on the back of the seat are useless to me. The seat consists of three parts: base, post and seat shell. The seat rotates 360 degrees but has a cam mechanism so it returns to the center position when not in use. It rotates about 90 degrees to get onto it - it takes quite a bit of force to rotate it all the way. Although I'm a mechanical engineer I find it hard to imagine the typical adult (or smart kid) having any trouble putting this together - it comes with graphical instructions. The fit and finish is decent, although the molded stitching on the plastic part of the seat could have been a little less noticeable.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Expensive
