Review on Mr Coffee Programmable Dishwashable Filtration by Teresa Sparks

Great brand, poor quality product (NOT RECOMMENDED)

We've always been the Mr. Coffee. Mom's coffee pot was finally getting dusty after over 20 years, so Mr. Coffee was my first thought when I needed a replacement. This product at first seemed like a great idea with dishwasher safe detachable parts and a reusable filter basket to replace the ever deteriorating paper filters. After fast delivery (THANK YOU AMAZON!), I unpacked it according to the instructions, disassembled it and put it in the dishwasher before I used it for the first time. This is where things got really interesting... During assembly I noticed that the "take a cup" parts fell apart in the dishwasher and the small washer holding the coffee-based parts was nowhere to be seen. After disassembling the dishwasher and not finding the parts, I realized that it was gone forever. Next I tried to put the top back on the base. Well, the lock didn't snap to hold the piece firmly to the base, so the top continued to go up. NOT something mom had to deal with at 7am every morning. Judging by the high ratings of other consumers, I think I got a lemon. But after taking a close look at the device, I decided to return it because of the cheap workmanship. Too many flimsy plastic parts make for a short-lived product that will likely end up in landfill for years to come. At $55, I expected more, especially from Mr. Kaffee. By returning this device and another Mr. Coffee, a simpler device with fewer parts that will hopefully be made better.

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • I really don't like it, everything is fine
