Review on πŸ’§ Efficient Universal Fit Toilet Tank Ball by Master Plumber: Enhance Your Plumbing System! by John Espindola

Unreliable junk. Don't waste your $$$

I bought one of these almost exactly a year ago to replace the ball valve in my 1920's toilet. The previous damper was used for more than ten years before it wore out. This damper wore out in just over a year. When I went to flush the toilet today, it was installed 13 months ago, there was no flush. Puzzled, I removed the cover and saw that the rod had partially pulled the entire bolt out of the breech. Good. I thought I got lucky because I bought a second one to have on hand after the first one seemed to work fine. After all, I have 2 1920's toilets in my house and it seems like the parts are only available online. I pulled out the spare tire, went to install it and noticed the rubber where the stem bolts in. I just screwed in the stem, cleared the area around the shock, opened the water valve again, let the tank fill and thought I did it. After 2.5 hours my toilet worked. I added some blue food coloring to the tank and watched and waited. Obviously there was a very slow drip depending on how long it took the toilet to start after I replaced the ball and after a while a very slow amount of blue built up in the toilet. I opened the tank and watched. I noticed a small bubble where the stem screws into the breech. This is where the rubber meets where you thread the rod into the damper. My guess is that the manufacturer is too lazy to produce this product properly, so if you put rubber in the bolt part when screwing the stem in, you inevitably end up with something that isn't waterproof. which makes everything useless. Save money. This is gambling. One worked well but only lasted a year. The second was a piece of junk straight out of the box. I have ordered another brand from Revain which should arrive in a few days. I hope I have better luck with that. As many have pointed out, the pole that comes with it is useless and too short for most folding toilets.
