I can't look inside to see if there are ribs to help dissipate heat. All I can tell you is about my economical water-cooled NAS. Long story short, I live somewhere that doesn't require air conditioning, but the My Trash NAS with dual Phenom II processors brings some warmth to my office. I see this being a problem in the summer. So I decided to use a water-cooled system that dissipates heat to the outside. First, note that standard 3/8 knobs are not used. They're more like 5/16. this makes the other adjustment uncomfortable. I was able to use a 5/16 tube and then heat it up just a little to fit a standard 3/8 water cooling to move on to the rest of the circuit. Second, don't mix metals. Stick to the aluminum heatsink. The Final Word: If you're looking for a super affordable water-cooled system, this is it.
